Blower/Fan Speed Problem
Blower/Fan Speed Problem
Hoping you guys can help me out with a switch/blower problem that I'm having.
Problem:
Blower/fan only operates at highest speed, which is #4.
Symptoms:
Turning the fan/blower speed selector to 1, 2, or 3 fails to start the fan. As mentioned above, the blower only works on the highest setting.
If I depress the AC button followed by turning the blower selector switch to either 1, 2, or 3, I can immediately hear the AC come ON -- but no blower!
I removed the blower assembly and everything looks OK mechanically wise. There are (2) wires going to the blower, and (1) of those wires has constant 12VDC.
I also removed the switch assembly, but couldn't really determine if that is the cause of the problem (since the AC comes ON). There were (5) or (6) wires of different thicknesses going to the switch, and (1) of those also had constant 12VDC. Turning the selector switch to any speed dis not carry any voltage to any particular output wire.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or even heard of a similar problem.
My wife uses the MAX for my 1-year old son. Specially with the hot weather coming, it's really important that I find a solution for this very soon! I'd hate to go to Nissan for something like this... but I may have to!!
Hope you guys can help me out... any suggestions welcomed!
I'm currently at work, so I don't have a chance to troubleshoot the Max right now...
Thanks to all!
Peter
