Something weird happening?!

I was playing with my car, trying to fix one of many problems. I started the engine and everything seemed fine until... I turned on the headlights. The engine was idling at 1000/RPM (engine was cold), and when I turned the lights on the needle suddenly dropped to 900/RPM. WTF!? I've never seen this happen before. Is this normal? Or do I have to include this on my to-do list.

It's normal since the lights draw power from the alternator. Since the car was still cold it went up a 100 rpm insted of 50 or so.

Thanks. That's one less thing I have to worry about. Now if only I can get the car to start ALL the time.

Starter? Weak ignition signal? Loose wire? Fuse?

to fix this problem a little better than it is now, re-ground your electronics using thicker gauge wires, i.e. 4-8 gauge. This is said to also give you about 8 hp. I think I saw something on the forum regarding this....hope this helps.
