My car suffered some serious door damage last week by some idiots trying to break in and steal my stereo. Does anyone have an opinion about which after market alarm system to buy for my car? How well do they interface with the ECU?

You might want to look into having th alarm professionally installed if it is in your price range. I installed an alarm in my 3rd gen, and it is something I wouldn't want to do again. Interfacing the lights, dome light, locks, trunk release... It ended up being a full day project. In my 4th gen I had Good Guys install my DEI alarm, $220 installed, dropped it off in the morning, picked it up by noon.
