Helmes or any detailed Manual for 2k2 Max

I am just a registered user and can not search. I am in the middle of ripping apart my engine and really need a manual for a few questions and location of a few sensors. Or diagrams of the engine/trans sensor location. If anyone can send me a link to a manual download or PM me with it I would be greatful. Thanks.

Manuals

I can't help you except to say it would appear they haven't released manuals for the 2002 yet - niether Haynes nor Chiltons. I checked a few weeks back, and they aren't listed by the publisher on the website.

I've also not seen a Chiltons or Haynes in electronic format - ever, unless somebody took the time to scan one.

Hopefully somebody has service manuals or something similar from Nissan directly. That would be excellent info, and I would definitely like to be copied on anything you find.

Good luck, and please tell us why do you have it torn down?

Crank and Speed sensors seem to be/were failing. At least that is what I have come up with since I started researching my problems. I have 52,XXX on it and don't feel like paying Nissan to do the work. Crank sensor is fixed. It was just loose and needed to be tightened. How I knew.... it stalled a few times and then cranked and cranked trying to start giving me a CEL once it was running. All good now. My only issue now is the speedo cuts in and out. Nissan replaced my transmission at about 45,XXX miles or so. They said if I bring it back in for service I will have to pay again. F that LOL. It was their fault the crank sensor was loose I think and the speed sensor is located somewhere on the trans (I just can't find it without tearing too much into it.

It doesn't matter what the dealer says. You have a 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. You shouldn't be paying for anything engine or transmission related.

There is a recall for the crank sensor. You should get it replaced free.

Without looking at it they said it can't be the speed sensor and has to be something else. I would rather check it myself to see before I bring it in for service.

Anyone know where the speed sensor is located on the trans? I didn't see it on the top of the trans so figured it had to be somewhere else? I can't drive the car as of now and want to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks.
