Need Fog Light for my '02- Dealership price no way!

Sorry I havnt posted for a while. I am traveling on the highway now to get to work everyday and I just cracked my passenger side fog light. Dealership wants $177 for a 2k2 fog light and $88 to install. My question are:

1. Does anyone know where I can get one used or wholesale?

2. Is this a job I can do myself? I am not mechanically gifted. (I can change my oil, but thats about it).

Any help will be appreciated, please help me from paying dealership rip off prices!!

I just had to do this too. I went ahead and bought the whole fog light kit from jerryromenissan.com. Total was ~$150 shipped (after "MAXIMA" discount code). Kit came with both fog lights, etc. bascially everything you would need to install fog lights if you had a GXE. One light was going to be like ~$140 shipped so I figured at the time that for $10 I'd have an extra driver side.

Another reason it would be a good idea to get both is after you install one you'll notice that the new one looks obviously newer than the other so it might be a good idea to go ahead and replace both.

To answer your second question, this is an easy install. Bascially, remove the splash guard that is in the way, remove 2 nuts from the back of the fog light, unplug, and pop out.

HSV,
thanks for your response, I may go check this out. The dealership told me that the install involves taking the entire front bumper off (I kinda thought this sounded like a little bit of bullsh*t). Do I need to lift that car or can I just get to it ?

Well, you can stick your head under the front bumper, but things might be a little cramped. It would be much easier to put the car on jacks or buy some Rhino Ramps from Wal-Mart for $30. I have the ramps and they come in handy.

Also, if you look in the how-to sticky there is a write-up for replacing the fog light bulb. The write-up starts out describing how to remove the fog light assembly so that should help you.

Their price is only $133.06. Intallation is very simple. The hardest part for me was to remove the plastic cover under the bumper. Those snap-on plastic bolts were a pain to pry out.

I went to Dave Burnette first. However, according to his price list the fog light kit went up in price and he could not beat the $150 for the kit. His was going to be like $170 + shipping.
