My car is a 1996 Maxima GLE and it is a stock color. It is almost black and the papers say black, but it doesnt quite reflect black. I would call it light black if that make any sense. Doesnt anyone know what the real name for this color is? Thanks.

 

Any pictures you can post up?
Does it have a hint of green in it?
Does it have a hint of blue in it?
There are a lot of dark colors.

 

I'm guessing you have either deep evergreen or black emerald

 

You would know its green if it was deep evergreen and your not colorblind

 

cant u check the color by using the vin number?

 

Look under the hood on the firewall and you will see the paint code.
Mine is something like AR2 for the Crimson Blaze.
Then, just go to the general forums about the maxima and you should be able to find them.

Hmmmmm. I tried to search for it, but this thing wont let me search for anything. Let me know if you find out what color that engine code is?

 

from spoilerdepot.com they have it called 'deep purplish blue'...so no it isn't black. Black is KH3 for your year. I'll look more for the official name.

EDIT - It's Granite Pearl. It was in the FAQS, as I suspected...you should read those through a few times.

 

you have granite pearl. i used to have a granite peral max, definately a unique color, kinda black, kinda gray, kinda some other colors too.

 

You could've at LEAST posted pics up for this newbie thread.
