I cleaned my MAF and holy **** !!!!!

I posted this on the older thread i created because of my performance problems with the car bogging down and lossing power after 3-4k RPM's... but wanted to bring out the topic again since it was such a huge improvement for me.

So I decided to take out the MAF and clean it with CRC Elektra-Kleen....when I took the sensor out it was pretty dusty in and around the sensor wire so I sprayed it at will thouroughly. Put the sensor back, reconnected battery (to reset ECU), and took car for a ride and.....

OMG!!!! all the bog down is GONE and the car just screams thru all the RPM's and I can even hear the VIAS kick in after 5k rpm....I am shocked, the car runs and pulls like a dream now, cant believe what a diff this has made!
I suggest that if you have similar problems and have not check out your MAF you might want think about cleaning it....I know Nissan says its not a serviceable part, of course becasue they can just have you buy a new one!!!

I got some from home depot. You dont need to dry because it evaporates pretty quick.

When I cleaned my MAF and TB, I did not feel much of a difference.

Kiosk, did you remove the actuall sensor and spray it down? I only sprayed inside the MAF.

I took the actual sensor out completely (u need special torx bit which I got from autozone) and just spray it down and in around the sensor wire. No need to dry because this stuff almost dries upon contact.....and reset the ECU of course

How much for the bit? Is there a size # for the bit or anything like that?

Sorry I didnt take any pics, the thing isnt that big to begin with. But i did see a lot of dust piled up around the sensor wire....prbly from the 108k miles on my car it was well overdue!

So you use the star wrench thing, and then unclip the MAF, spray the stuff, and wallah? I went to AutoZone and found CRC "QD Electric parts cleaner” I presume the QD stands for Quick Dry. This should be this same thing right?
