Injen vs Place Racing vs HAI

I had a previous post that kinda went astray so i figured id start a new one. I am currently running a jwt pop charger/midpipe setup. This hot weather is really killing my performance especially after driving around for a while. I wanted a decent intake system that would be better than the pop charger HAI setup im running now. I just ordered the injen setup and have been hearing bad things about it. I would like some feedback on the injen and how the pipes feel after driving around for a while and if its better than HAI. From what iv been told it goes:

Place Racing, HAI, and then Injen but i really don't want to believe it seeing how i have an injen in the mail lol. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

Yea Ive got a HAI setup right now (stock piping, just a filter), it sucks. There is a bunch of lag below 2500rpm. Im thinking of switching over to CAI, back in the winter i didnt notice the lag, but now its getting hot out.

Its shiny.... that catches everyone and makes them wanna spend over $200 for it when all its doing is sucking hot radiator and manifold air.

i was going to buy injen but i don't think that is such a good idea to have the filter so close to radiator and manifold ir goes against its nature so i will just wait i figure out another way to replace my stock air box until then is just a k&n drop in

Amen. It does look nice, but obviously an engineer had no part in the design of that intake because no engineer would put an intake in one of the lowest and hottest places in a car.

I love my PR, I relocated my battery a few inches over, and sideways. I ran the piping down to the area behind the factory foglight hole in the bumper. Since i have no fogs, it works almost like a ram air. I just changed the PR filter, and put on the K&N. This is the best set up I've driven for CAI. And it sounds mean as hell.

i keep looking at the cone placement in my car and it is nowhere near the radiator fan what really blows the hot air. and it is actually a few inchest to the right of the radiator. so where are you guys coming up with this theory? the hai is what draws hot air since the heat rises to top of the engine and and below the hood.
like i said b4. injen all the way. looks, performance, and yes it is not for the budget guy. so you pay 200 bucks, other people pay more for dinan.

filter on a stick vs. filter on a stick vs. filter on a stick.

HEY, I think I'll pay $250 for this filter on a stick when I could buy this filter on a stick for $50

do what kevlo said

I had the Injen for barely an hour on my car before I took it off. The filter is set slightly offset right NEXT to the radiator. The hot radiator air is not blowing on it directly, but guess what? The radiator still radiates heat off itself, same with the manifolds. The other thing that damns the Injen is that there is no fresh air whatsoever coming into it. There is no vent, hole, crease, nothing flowing fresh air into that area. Even on the bottom all you have is the splash guard... take that off and you might have a little air but I wouldnt exactly do that unless you want to hydrolock your motor.

as far as cutting the hole goes drew a circle where I needed to to drill. then I drilled a little hole and put a jig saw in there and cut it out. this is if you dont have access to a 3.5" circular bit.......

Can you convert an injen style intake to a place racing intake by replacing that curved adapter where the hoses fit into?

All this badmouthing of the injen makes me wanna try something else.

Ya all this talk about the injen sucking in hot air makes sense and i want only the best for my car so even though i purchased an injen id rather go with ebay place racing for better results.

I got the PR and if I had to do it all over again this is what I would do.

Where did you get the K&N from? I've been wanting to do this.
