calling all hotshot headers owners

Hey guys,

How has gotten a SES light concerning left bank CAT below threshold (i dont have the code, but thats what jeff told me)

I know alot of guys have had these for awhile now, It's strange i got this code AFTER i put on the cattman exhaust, yet this code is totally unrelated?

Info here please? thanks

Marc.

No codes here. Where did you put your secondary O2 sensors?

I think all the 02-03's are Cali spec.

You have 2 sets of o2 sensors. Before you installed your headers the first set was before your precats, the second set was after them. The function of the second set is to determine if the precats are working correctly. When you installed your headers you eliminated the precats so what many people with headers are doing are installing the secondary o2 sensors behind the main cat into the catback thereby fooling the sensor into thinking the precats still exist.

Actually, no, I haven't done this. My set of headers was the first one Jeff installed on the VQ35 and Hotshot did not provide directions. Jeff ended up installing the secondary o2 sensors near their stock locations so I have no cats between my primary and secondary o2 sensors. So far I've been lucky and have not thrown any codes.

Where are your secondary o2 sensors now? Did Jeff install your catback? Was it installed at the same time as your headers?

That is exactly what you need to do to keep the SES light off.

I did the cattback a week later, I'm not really sure what he did, yet i assume he did mine, as he did yours. It's funny this problem didn't pop up unti a week later, and i assumed it was related to the exhaust. He reset my ECU, and i assume it should eventually set off the SES light again (if it happened already, why not happen again) I'm gonna call tommorow, see exactly what he did, and see if he can relocate the sensor to after the cat, like you suggest.
