I recently gave a friend of mine a little spin around in my 97 Maxima SE. He made an interesting comment to me which I felt was 100% true. He said the Maxima is a car to take to a wedding or funeral but still a car you can truly "drive"! HOW TRUE!

Anyway, I was curious about some mods I could do that would help performance or keeping the car quiet. I don't like mod exhausts because they make to much noise. I like the quiet ride of the Maxima. One of my first mods will be a Wood trim added. Any ideas what's a decent price for factory wood trim to be installed? Price included parts?

first off.. do you have an auto? or 5spd?

next.. never knew woodtrim was a performance mod.. just kidding.. you can get woodtrim kits.. if your car interior is black.. i would suggest going with an aluminum dash kit..

Joshua Tree wood or aluminum dash kit..

a nice quiet best performance mod is a y pipe, i think it gives the most horsepower for a direct bolt on...

Are you saying that adding a Y-pipe does not increase noise?? I was under the impression that it did. like this lo rumble all over the rev band.

I have the "new" Stillen Y on otherwise stock exhaust.
I can't hear any increase in exhaust noise, except when you wind past 5500 RPM.
That thing is quiet.

I'm very happy with this upgrade.

I don't know if it's just the photo or lighting but your car looks great. What kind of wax/polish do you use?
