OK, this is a race thread for tonite. Just wanted to post some kills. If you think racing is stupid, then why are you reading this thread? Otherwise if you just want to see what I ran against and how it went, cause everyone has a little speed racer in them, cool.

Tonite I ran against the following cars:

95 300zx (5spd, non turbo)
96 3000GT (5spd, non turbo)
97 VW Jetta GT (5spd)
89 Honda Civic/CRX (auto)
96 200sx Se-R (5spd)
91 240sx (5spd)

Well after hanging out with some friends at the local spot, we met up with some other guys in another spot. Some how the topic came up "lets run", everyone was up for it, I was up for it, I just wanted to run against my friends 300zx that he had just gotten to see what I had against him, etc.... Well I didnt know that alot of people wanted to run against me. So I was kinda of in aw, as the number of cars that asked me if I wanted to run against them. So we head out to a new spot, and got ourselves set up. These are the runs in order:

96 200sx Se-R:
First run, I take him on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, his little car is quick but of course its no match for a 6cylinder modded car, I beat him by at least 3-4cars. We run back from the other end, again same thing, only this time, he got stuck a little peeling out, this time the gap is a bigger, about 5-6 cars.

89 Honda Civic/CRX:
This run was just sad, my friend got this car to get him from here to there, but he just wanted to see what he had against my car. His is bone stock, beater car, all trashed out, but it runs, and alot of the parts are JDM. We ran once, this was just easy, I beat him by like 10cars or more, I thought he wasnt trying, but it turns out he was flooring it, its just that the car sucks. LOL

91 240sx:
We ran three times, I won all three. First run, I take him on the take off, he keeps up with me, but I hit second and he goes to my bumper, I hit 3rd, and I'm a car ahead. He's quick for a little 4banger, Second run was similar. The third run was where he just learned to respect the car. I was too busy looking for a cd to play, when they signaled the go! He takes me out on first, so I'm like ****, I floor it, and he's ahead, I hit 2nd and I'm slowly gaining on him, 3rd was were the magic is, I hit 3rd, and it seemed like his car had already topped out, i slowly pass him, and beat him by half a car. Not much of a beat down there but I caught up and passed him.

3000GT:
We ran twice, this guy tought he was all shizznit. It was funny cause he hangs out with a group of guys that I know, and every time he would be with them and I would be there, he would laugh at my car and say those cars are slow. (reason being he ran a slow beat up maxima, that a old friend of mine had, so I'm guessing he thought there all the same) Both runs where the same, 1st, 2nd, he kept up with me, to my fender, once i hit 3rd it was over....I left back by 2cars or so. I thought they were much quicker, well after that, he gave me props .

VW Jetta GT:
My buddy just got this car, it only 60,000miles, its perfect, just like new, for only 3gs, so the car runs great. He wanted to see what his car had against mine. So I was up for it.We ran once, but dont underestimate these cars. I beat him by like half a car. This little car is quick, for bone stock. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, he stayed next to me, I would inch up, little by little in each gear, and he wasnt gaining much, nor was he losing much. I give him props.

95 300zx:
This is the race I was waiting for all night, I thought that I wasnt gonna do such a good job on this last race because well, hell my car had run a couple of times already, poor thing needed a break. So we decided to call it a night after our last runs. His 300zx is a stock, 5spd, with a engine overhaul. He upgraded soem thing here and there, but nothing fancy that I know of. We ran twice, FIrst run we take off, he peels alittle but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd I own his butt, I he's at my bumper at the end of the run. Fast car, but this is where its like dam, this is our second and last run this time he was ready, I could hear him idling the car. ANyhow well we go, and he gets me on the take off, he's beating me, 1st, and 2nd, come 3rd, I line up right next to him, we're both side by side, then I hear him hit 4th gear, and he slowly inches up and slowly passes me. This is where I regret not fixing my KS. It was a close and fun race.

Ok, well this is as truthful as it gets, now the car distances are true, were I live these are cars that alot would consider THE GHETTO FAST AND THE FURIOUS, all show no go, alot of cars arent well taken car of etc.... So soem of those so called fast cars, are really slow. ETC.... down here we only have the occasional 3-4 12second civics, but the other 40 or so are all 18second cars, anyhow I know what I'm doing is illegal and dangerous, the track is far from here. If we had one locally this wouldnt be happening. But oh well, sooner or later I'll learn the hard way.

 

Do you mostly race cars that have no chance against you and then just throw in one or two that can just hang with you? How did you het 200hp?

ECU upgrade

 

Damn, I thought you only had that fart muffler. With those you have like 230 at the crank. At the wheels maybe in the 180 range.

 

yea with that fart can muff yull need a nice big wing to keep your car stuck to the road cause youll be going so fast. I bet that dude with the 300zx upgreaded his car with one of those 20hp pos chips from ebay.


Its threads like this that make me not want to tell anyone about how I did against a fifth gen 5 speed.












By the way it was dead even the whole way.

Weird. Some of them you should have won others im a little skeptical about. Oh well, atleast it was safe and fun.

Oh btw race drivers who can actually drive next time . Give you a better rush.

An auto 4th gen with only a muffler? 200 HP? Not even at the crank. You are probably at about 185 at the crank. Not even the stock 190 HP cause your car is a bit older, and I'm sure the compression is not like it was new including the knock sensor issue. That would put you at about 165 at the wheels is my bet.

I'm at 190 at the wheels, and I'm 5 speed. The top three cars in that list (Jetta, 300ZX, 3000GT) are all respectable cars. Although the 300 is a bit on the bulky side, they're still quick, and Jetta GT's are no punk.

I'm not necessarily gonna call BS on the wins, but you do need to recalculate your HP a bit better.

Good job taking all the cars but you should of had that 300zx. Those things are slow compared to the maxima that you have.

 

BluFlame the 300zx vs the 3000gt. The 300zx won! Similar race between me and the 300zx, only it was the the zx against the gt. Oh the jetta was surprising, never thought a little car like that could keep up with me, he is stick thou, and stock. I got a 150,000 miles now, so I'm debating, should I overhaul the engine, or just get a new engine with 45,000miles? Still got a couple more MOds to come:

Torque Converter
Pathfinder TB
Phantom Grip
Hard core TUNE UP

Get the phantom grip. It's a very good product, high powered 240sx's seem to like it pretty well.
