air write-up?????
??? WHat? Go to autozone and buy yourself a can of r134(refrigerant) and a hose to hook i up. Connect it to your LOW side of the pipes(green cap with L on it). Turn on the car and put the AC on to max. Connect the hose with can and you're done. It says all that on the can(order might be different).
Yes, recharge is easy. Kits are cheap, and can be purchased even at WalMart. However, if you want to change compressor, expansion valve, condensor, etc... you will have a terrible time finding any help for instructioins. Even the Haynes and Chilton manuals say to take it to a proffesional for A/C work. I'm currently having problems with my A/C as well. I tried for quite a while to find troubleshooting/install help, but had no luck. Everyone says "take it mechanic." Sucks, eh???
im not talking about those drop in cannisters. So what if theres a leak? you can keep on adding those little cans all day but you still want to detect the leak dont you? how are you going to evac the refrigerant and vacuum it down? Yes you can do a service at home other than topping off lost refrigerant but you still cant buy refrigerant without certification. Those bottles are not actual refrigerant, its r134a compatable mixture that can mix in with refrigerant
