20hp speed chips-whats the deal?

Whats the deal with these speed chips that they sell on ebay? do they work at all without any harmful side effects? are they jus pieces of ish that dont do squat. Go to link below...

I think what this "scam" is it's a resistor you wire in your MAF sensor. What that does is fool the ECU that less air is entering the engine. The effect is less fuel is added, and a lean mixture makes more power. You'll probably run lean and blow your engine in the long run, I wouldn't touch those things with a 10 foot pole, anyone with half a brain should do the same.

Yeah I think a local guy just tried one of these on his car last week and gained a whopping 0hp on the dyno.

ha ! +20 HP is worth a billion dollars, if they are trying to sale it for under 20 bucks then all i would do is send them a prank email and forget about it !
