How do i "rebase" my D2R bulbs to H3 bulbs?

I know theres a way to "rebase" d2r bulbs, i think theres a way to rebase them to the H3 format. I have an HID kit and want to stick it into my fogs. I guess it would be easier to sell my kit to some unfortunate 5.5gen owner and buy an H3 kit for the same price but i dont want anything over 6,000k, preferable 4300k.

Rebasing the d2r to h3 would be very hard, since the h3 has a small base. And even if you could do it, the focal points arent the same since the HID bulb is longer.

I actually read a write up of the whole procedure, there was a link somewhere on hidforum.com. I don't remember exactly, but you don't "rebase" the bulb but slightly modify it. I think the guy used some regular screws to hold the bulb in place.

Tried to see if the bulb even fits and its not overing the entire hole which might allow moisture in and fog my fogs. I know you gotta somehow cut the base of th D2 bulb to the form of the H3 but these are about 70 times more expensive than the h3 so i dont want to mess it up. If you got a link, post it, i want to see what they did. Worse comes to worst, ill get some small BMW projector from X5 and open up the hole on the foglight like Rodman on a virgin midget.
