I'm sorry but if it took you 55hrs. to polish your intake, tell your buddy that you'll find work somewhere else. I'm not saying that its an easy task to accomplish, lord knows there are tons of nooks & crannies to get into. But if your serious about charging to polish intake manifolds, then I suggest you call a chrome shop & see how much they charge to chrome the manifold. I'm sure that people would pay the same amount for a polished intake as they would for a chromed one? Good luck with your future buisness!!!

I don't know what the cost of living is in your part of the country, but in my business I have to bill $75/hr to cover living expenses/overhead/taxes/medicare/social security/retirement...... even if you charged $25 an hour, you're looking at $1,375. See if there is a way to speed up the process.... also, consider if customers would want to wait 3-4 weeks to get their parts polished.

good luck!

~$300 is the going rate of intake manifold. ~$125 is the going rate for valve cover. I have a spare intake manifold off a 1996 and 2 spare VC I can sell you to get you started. PM or Email me.
