engine swap question?

will i be ok putting a '96 GLE engine into my '97 GXE? or will there ecu issues?

or any other issues?

You'll probably need an ECU from a 96 GLE when emissions come around. I'd put in the new engine and see if there are any codes in the ECU. If there are get a 96gle ECU.

Engines supposed to be the same.

I dunno if it matters on your model or not, there are several threads on engine swapping right now. Go back a few pages and look.

I have a 95 engine in my 98. The mechanic that does the swap, has to pay close attention to swap out the outer parts from the 96 engine to your 97 engine.
