How bad is it?
Ok guys and girls, I need your help. I recently had my dealer do a full inspection done on my 96SE, one thing they found was Oil Pressure Switch Leak , how bad is it, should I worry and can I do this. The dealer wanted $91 to replace it, a bit high like any dealer. Any help will sure be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Re: Do-It-Yourself
You mean replace it? Or just put more sealant on it? I always wondered if it leaks from the threads or from the swtich/sensor itself?

This job can be done by the home mechanic. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on sturdy jackstands. Slide under. The OPS is easy to see and reach. It is "just around the corner" from the oil filter, in the rear face of the block. Peel back the protective rubber boot. Press and wiggle to disconnect the electrical connector from the OPS. Use a special OPS socket or an ordinary 1-inch deep socket to unscrew the OPS. A few ounces of engine oil will dribble out, not much of a problem. You can do the whole job in half an hour, including clean-up time.

Not a problem
I changed mine a month or two ago ...
the piece costs $5 dollars i think .. ? or maybe it was $13
either way don't pay the mechanics at nissan to do it. Daniel B. Martin described how to change it perfectly, do it your self.

if its the thingy thats connected to the cable that runs right under the oil filter, you can probably get to it without jacking up the car. just turn your steering wheel all the way to the right.... then take the plastic panel off of inside the right front wheel well... you'll see the oil filter and it should be to the left of it.
