I have a 97 GLE that came with wood trim but just around the stereo unit and stick shift. However, I would like to add the two missing pieces around the digital clock and temperature control gauges, and possibly take a little higher to the center ac vents. Anyone know where I can purchase these "missing" pieces? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have the burle wood color. (I think I spelled "burle" wood correctly.) Thanks!

I think the dealer sells the add on or try:
www.wooddash.com
www.exoticwooddash.com
www.wooddashdirect.com
most have either full kits or add on kits that match the factory Burl Wood.

You might be in luck. I may have those 2 pieces as extra pieces from my burl wood. Can you describe it better?

2 Pieces

As I mentioned in my posting, the piece that overlays the digital climate control and the piece that overlays the digital clock are the ones that I am missing. I can also get a piece right above the digital clock that would overlay the two ac vents, but for now I would just settle for the other two. I hope this helps. If not you can give me a call at 1-800-876-9180 x. 1231 and I will try to explain better. How much are you looking to sell them for?

I also have a GLE and dont like the black plastic on top of the wood. I have tried to find kits that match the existing trim but have been unable to. I e-mailed some of the wood dash people (not sure which one) and they said I would be able to tell a difference between the stock and the add-on. Maybe someone does make a match though. Another problem would be the additional height of the new pieces. They would stick above the wood trim below it. I also thought about getting a whole dash kit and put the new wood pieces over everything including the stock wood but I have been told that I would be able to see a little of the stock around the edges. You could always trade your wood for someone's black pieces and put the wood kit over that. I am sure many people would be interested. If you find a solution let us know because I really want to replace that black plastic with wood.

I have extra pieces from Alkaplus. Go to the site (www.alkaplus.com) and take a look at the illustration. I think you're looking for numbers 2-5. I have 2 and 5. You will still need the other pieces. Sorry I thought I had all the pieces you needed.

i haven't seen one company that make an add on kit for the maxima with factory wood grain... if you put on another kit it will not match and look a little goofy. also the new wood pieces will be higher...
what you can do it go to a infiniti dealer an buy the pieces from an i30.. they are the real pieces that match perfect. it is the actual piece thats in the max but in wood grain not black..

That sounds perfect for what I want. Does anyone here have an I30 with a stock wood dash that they have pics of? What are the best Infinity dealers to buy from?

I found a 97 Infiniti on e-bay that had a pic of the dash and it didn't match at all. The dash isn't even shaped the same. Look at this pic.

I currently have the black trim pieces on my car, and would definitely consider trading if someone needs to upgrade their wood trim and need the black pieces in place of the wood.

I have been looking and haven't been able to find many pics but the 2 I have look just like the one I posted above. Should I be looking at the 95 instead? This pic shows a wood piece that would match the climate control in my 97 GLE but thats it. The e-baby auction claims it is a 96. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...790756&r=0&t=0 I will keep looking. If anyone has a pic please post it.

If you mix and match pieces, it would look pretty goofy IMO. I would recommend just buying a whole new set, then your pieces will all look the same. From all the wood trim dealers I have seen, they don't sell individual pieces for this very reason.

99 GLE?

I thought I read something that the 99 GLE had the wood pieces go all the way to the top
