Strut creaking really bad (Internetautomart)

Hey. I am having some pretty bad creaking/groaning/rattling noise when I hit bumps while I'm driving or I can here it wiggling/loose rattling when I'm driving over normal roads that are sometimes bumpy. I posted it on NWMaxima.com which is the guys a hang with (Shawn and Jeff) and they said that it's most likely my strut mount and or dust boot. Shawn told me to check Internetautomart out and I remember him doing some good working finding the cheapest parts so this is what I'm guessing that I need:

Monroe Front Strut Mounts: 902989 $34
Front Strut Boots $13

If that's exactly what's wrong with my suspension (front drivers side) then i'll buy that stuff. I'm curious though, what's the difference between the ones that I listed above and these:

Sachs Front Strut Mounts: 802874 $68
KYB Front Strut Mounts: SM5102 $48

I'm going to probably go with the cheaper ones cuz I'm a poor college guy, but I was just curious. Thanks for your help guys!

I had this problem on my car as well. Was informed upper strut mount and bearing. The differences in prices is likely that you can buy these peices together or seperately. The rubber in the upper strut mount will deteriorate and cause these sounds just as the bearing can wear out and the mount still be fine. Nissan suggests replacing both peices and on both sides. I ignored this recommendation as I was low on funds at the time as well. I purchased only the bearings for both sides. The problem was only occuring on the passenger side and even after the bearing replacement, the strut continued to make the sounds when turning and when moving vertically under the right conditions. Since I had to pay for the bearings and labor for it to have not solved my problem, I say to save up money and don't skimp out, replace both peices on both sides. As I said, Courtesy and these other places you've listed likely sell them together.

My 93 GXE has the same problem: creaking when I go over a large bump. I've been thinking about replacing the front struts/springs on the car for about a year now.

Here's what I have priced out from internetautomart:

KYB front mounts x2 = $96
KYB right front strut = $57.50
KYB left front strut = $57.50
2 x front strut boots = $26

Total = $237 + Shipping

Now I don't really think I need to get lowering springs. So does anyone have a suggestion on where to get new springs, or is it not necessary to replace them at the same time?

-Jeff
PS: Sorry for the threadjack.

EDIT: I see that the springs don't need to be replaced unless you are lowering your max. I'll have to look further into the install. (Is there any need for a spring compressor if you aren't changing the springs?)
