Is there a too big when it commes to tranny coolers?

I bought a tranny cooler as they were on sale here, but i picked up the biggest one they had, it measures 11x11 3/4" I installed it today (very very very tight fit) and it shifts a lot better and you dont feel the heat getting to it.

But is there a too cold for a tranny? Come winter that is going to catch a lot of ice cold air)

I also added water wetter or whatever its called to make up for the less flow to the rad.

you don't want it too cold, or else the tranny is going to take forever to warm up during cold temperatures

duct tape it off dosent sound like the best thing in the world, you might be able to do a valve that you could adjust if your going for less flow. but i dunno how smart that would be either.
