Muffler Recommendations

Yo foolz...

i'm looking to upgrade my exhaust system in the next couple weeks, probably just Y Pipe, muffler, with a good looking slash tip.

I havent decided whether to go Budget or WS for the Y Pipe, both are around 150-170 so cost isnt a huge factor, mainly sound. I've heard WS can get raspy sometimes.

The big thing is the muffler. I've asked around about a Dynomax Super Turbo but havent heard many good things about it. I'm looking for a deep rumble if possible. I dont want anything ridiculously loud and ricey, but definitely noticable.

So let the recommendations flow, i'll take pics and sound clips of any setup if anyone has them.

Thanks guys!

Dynomax Turbo is pretty good, magnaflow is good to but may be a little too loud, btw introducing yourself with "Yo foolz" isnt too smart..

Jkklim...

No disrespect intended in the slightest with the greeting, its just a saying me and my friends throw around so i guess i did it out of habit, my bad. So hopefully no hard feelings.

By the way, thanks for the quick reply.

i have the warpspeed y pipe w/ a magnaflow muffler (#14829), stock b pipe.
I think it sounds great, nice deep rumble with no raspiness at all, in fact the I cant even hear the muffler after about 3000 rpm. It all comes down to a matter of taste... heres a pic

I agree. I just put my Magnaflow on last week and I am very satisfied. It has a low rumble at low RPM. Anything above that, the only thing I hear is the intake.

can you guys give me a part number or muffler info (inlet placement/size/etc) for the magnaflow?

i'll definitely look into it....

kchase219, did you get the WS pipe and muffler installed at the same time? did you do it or have it installed at a shop? if you had it done, how much did it run you?

Thanks for the help guys

The part number for the one I got is #14829, here is a link to one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

It has a 2.25" center inlet and a 4" center outlet, the muffler itself is 14" long, more details are on magnaflow's website

As for the other question, I had my y pipe on about a month before I got the muffler. I installed the y pipe myself and the muffler was installed at a local shop for I think $80.

Hope this helps,

The FrankenCar exhaust is awsome. Athough you will need to have an exhaust shot do some custom work for you to put it on. Cost me 100 bucks install but couldnt be happier. Used to have a stillen exhaust and with the y-pipe the drone/noise was horrible. I hated driving the car for that reason. This exhaust is such a night-day difference that I cannot express my happiness. It is dual tipped and doesnt really fit. So I had to cut the bumper off around the round bevel. I will post another thread for all to see. But as far as the sound/drone.... I dont think u can get better than frankencar. However, I've only tried the stillen muffler and this one.. so :-/

I had the same question before I bought the Magnaflow. The single/double wall feature has nothing to do with the muffler itself, it's the style of tip on the muffler. The double wall tip will have a rolled edge on the end of the tip, as the single wall will look like a regular cut. The reason why I went with the double wall is that I think it looks looks classier than the single. The single looks a little riced to me, espescially with the tip opening being a large 4". With the double wall, the 4" tip doesn't look too big because of the rolled edge. That's just my opinion, good luck with your decision. You can't go wrong with the Magnaflow.
