First time Autocrossing the Max, with pics.

Well, I finally got the max out race last weekend.
What a rush. The Max did better than I expected. I race stock class (GS,) so I have very limited mods: fstb, hawk hps pads, brembo rotors, and progress rsb (shhh, that one was illegal.) I was the only one in my class on street tires though.
It was a VERY tight course. So tight I only got out of first gear on the final straight.
I got my a$$ handed to me by a bunch of supercharged mini's in my class. Other than the minis, I held my own. I go back in 2 weeks for a larger course, then the minis will get spisanked! VQ to the rescue.
Anyway, as promised, a few pics.

Certainly illegal in the stock classes, but no one would notice at the local races.
Somebody would probably notice at a bigger competition though.

So you don't have aftermarket struts or springs, eh? The stockers did pretty well?

Yeah, the stocks did ok I guess. It was a VERY slick course so tires set the breaking point most of the time instead of the suspension. Everyone else in G-stock was running "racing slicks" (street legal racing tires.) They did better for the most part as a result. I did edge out an accord coupe v6 6speed. Felt good about that for the first time out (it wasn't his.

You are in a GXE. 16" wheels, softer springs and a smaller sway bar up front (probably a slush driven transmission.) That is why it seems so strange to you.

I autoX my GXE.... here is a picture

Never have I lost to an F-body at an autoX, only Stangs beating me where fully decked out road race trailered in Cobras. I used to go alot but lately I started hatting my suspension and don't wanna push my luck till I get my JICs. I run Konis, GroundControlls, 3.5L sway bar in the front, Addco rear sway bar, STB front and rear and subframe connectors- custom. It the local track I schooled some Miatas on a larger layout with a problem runing some Advan R compound Yokos on my 300ZX NA wheels- here is a shot of it...

People ragged on me for the cheap wheel looks so I got some RPO1s. I liked the 300ZX wheels alot due to its width offset and weight- it was a 16x8 wheel that only weight 16lbs and cost me 100 for all 4 shipped off Ebay. Friend Powdercoated em for me black and they where raw wheels. I also felt like it handled better than RPO1s on 245/40/17 Falken Azenis Sports- which are awesome street tires. But comparing R compound Yokos to Street Falkens is like comparing a C230 Sedan to a AMG SL55.

I'm no longer do much of a autoX, My Maxima loves the straights of Road America- Wisconsin If I was able to drive into the state of MI I would go racing at Gingerman Raceway also... damn MI Cops. We should all have like a track day at Road America one day a year where all Maximas geather.

You'd better duck behind that wall!
For those who don't know, the cones that are down behind the others mark the direction so you don't get lost on course.
I went all day without killing a cone. I was actually a little dissapointed.

Blackbird, nice setup. I prefer to play in stock classes myself. If I got started moding, I would go broke well before I was able to stop.

I am contemplating trying to sneak in a blemco BBK. They'll never notice.

I have to give u credit though. I don't even feel confident driving daily with my HP/Eibachs, RSB, and FSTB (not that I drive like I stole it), but my current set-up just aint cutting it.
