03 Max 6spd 1/4mi Dragway 42
Just got back from Dragway 42 in West Salem Ohio. It was pretty much dead from 6:15 when I got there until 8pm so I ended up getting 8 runs in before 7:30pm and could have got more if I didnt stop and watch for a bit. Weather was supposed to be crappy but it never rained jsut drizzled for a few minutes and went on its way. Atmos. cond. were low 70s cooling to low 60s by 9pm humidity was high starting at 76% and jumping to 89% by 9pm. Pressure stayed constant at 29.00 in.hg. I got several personal bests this time around. I will not be giving all the info on my runs (especially the bad ones) becuase I had 14 runs in total tonight (all of them yellow by the way). First 4 or 5 runs the track was a little wet from a recent sprinkle. It was kinda fun losing traction shifting to 3rd.
Other notes were that I smoked a blue 98+ mustang GT twice and was lined up against an SRT-4 for my last run but they pulled two people from one lane and I ended up against a red 98+ Mustang GT. The SRT-4 was running low 14.2s @ ~100mph. There were several 98+ mustang GTs there all running in the 14.3-14.5 range and one that was running around 13.8. There was a nice olds 442 drag car that was running mid 10s as well (except when it was leaking radiator fluid). There were a few LS1 TAs there but were running crappy times at 13.6-13.8 @ very low 100s. There was an LT1 TA running 13.8 @ 101 and one strong running ram air LS1 TA running 13.0s at 110 or so. Okay enough of that.
Car conditions were: OBX catback, TS ECU, K&N GAB, trunk stuff removed, all weather mats removed, Falken Ziex 512 235/45/17s at 25psi.

My last best was a 14.302@99.52 with a 2.230 60' As you can see the atmos conditions were not as good as my last best meaning that I could dip even lower than this time. I got into the 14.2s 4 more times this night and 5 time total in the low 14.3s. Of the other 4 the first 2 I had the tires at 35psi 14.5 and 14.4 respectively. 3rd run was also 14.4 and I had one other 14.4 later on becuase I let off cause I wasnt happy with the launch.

Hell yeah I'm in the 2.1s now. I was pretty consistant with it too. I hit the 2.1s 4 other times and didnt have a 60' above 2.249 with a guessed average of about 2.205. Not bad for a non HLSD 6spd eh? ........... uh right?

This is the one I let off on... I got a better 60' than I thought. I had bogged on this one and though it would be a crappy run so when I was to shift into 4th I just coasted out of gear. Yeah I know I redlighted its cheating but screw off I am proud of it
. Best R/T without redlighting tonight is a +0.083.
Other than that my highest 1/8MPH tonight is 77.54 and my highest 1/4MPH tonight is 97.84. I am pleased with my performance tonight even if the atmos conditions werent the best.

Wow those are really good times....Hey you got the same car as i do...except mine is 2k2. Is yours fully loaded? I hope to run the same times as yours but mine is fully loaded with all the options (meridian, leather, sunroof). You think that might weigh me down?
Oh yeah u know yer GAB K&N setup? Did u keep yer stock mid-pipe on? Or did u replace it with a str8 thru midpipe from berk/frankencar? I'm debating on whether or not to buy a midpipe to accommodate my GAB.

With the K&N GAB the only thing I did was take out the filter bracket and put in a K&N panel filter with a bracket made from a coathanger. Everything else is stock in the air intake system. Hmm the only option I have is the sunroof I think. The other stuff might slow you down but I cannot imagine more than .2 in the 1/4.
Those were some great runs, and those 2.1 60 fts are cool. what are your thoughts on the technosquare ecu for your max. i havent heard much about those and how well they do.
i have a ts ecu for my 4th gen and love it, it really kicks in around 3500!
weather wasnt bad but there certainly is much better racing weather soon to come. i wouldnt be suprised if you nailed a 2.1 60 foot and reeled in a 14.1 or 14.o this winter.
i love those 3.5s and wish i had one, but even still the 3.0 is a mean little sister ! lol

The TS ECU really helps out 1st and 2nd gear. 2nd gear especially. The TS ECU really give you some great power at 4000-4600rpm. I had a 16whp gain from it at 4000rpm. It also gave me a nice boost at the 5000-5500 area (~10whp). The rest of the gains in the rpm range were 5whp or less. I thought it would give me more based on the dyno they have on their website. It seems like other peopel are having more luck with it as it doesnt seem like they got the A/F ratio absolutely right on mine. The higher rev limiter is nice and I am sure that is a large part of the times I have been hitting. However I think they need to bring the price down a bit. I am not sure I woud have payed $495+50 (shipping both ways) for it having gained what I personally gained. You need something to tune your car with like SAFC-II to tune it on the dyno. My ECU is simply a software burn.. not a piggy back. I have no way to tune my car except send TS my ECU and my dyno graphs with A/F ratios.
