92 gxe question yet agian they will keep comeing

ok does anyone know how to fix the lcd screan on the climate controle my air and hear work but the screan comes and goes so i never actualy know what setting im on so i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it or if im better off just buying a new one at a junk yard ect..... also my spedomitor is about 20 miles off and my local mechanic said it could be the speed sencer or it could be the motor on the back of it but he is not a specialist and did not want to order a 150 dollar speed sencer and it not do anything...anyone got any ideas how to fix it?...

the connections on the climate controls circuit board for the screen need to be de-soldered and re-soldered. what usually happens 99% of the time with these is that the connection(s) gets a hairline crack in it. this causes an intermittent connection between the screens wiring and the climate control circuit board.
your mechanic was right...
the speed sensor on our cars are another common problem. your cheapest method of fixing it is to go to a wrecking yard and grab a speed sensor out of another maxima. if that doesn't work you can try getting a spare gauge cluster and try swapping the speedometer motors or just try and find another speed sensor.
however...
you might only need to got to a dealership and have them recalibrate the speedometer.

dealerships recalibrate speedos? how much does this cost...will they do it because of aftermarket wheels?

as far as i know that's why the dealerships usually recalibrate speedos.

get the right tire size and you don't need to recalibrate.
