The Mystery of the Dying Power Locks (Did I break it?)
The Mystery of the Dying Power Locks (Did I break it?)
My front passenger window regulator on my 91 Maxima GXE broke, so following Craigs instructions, I pulled off the door panel, unhooked the electrical connections, stuck a 2 by 4 in the door to hold the window up for a few days, and went looking for a new regulator. But the day after I took everything apart, I noticed my power locks no longer work. They are now manual locks. Meaning that they operate independently, and don't function with the external keypad. The keypad still beeps and lights up, but nothing happens.
I'm wondering what I did to break the system? Or will it restore itself when I hook back up the electrical harness to the door button, door light, and window motor? Is there a fuse I may have blown, or a relay I should check? I really have no idea of what is wrong.
Before I put in the new regulator, I'd like to figure out what I need to do to fix the power locks.
Any suggestions on what I might do to fix them or at least a good source of trouble-shooting information?
Thanks for the help.
