i am no expert on reading plug wear so if i could have another couple sets of eyes to take a look i would appreciate it.

this is after ~10k miles - NGK BKR6E11 1 step colder.

thank you.

It's hard to tell anything without seeing a close up of the electrodes. But from what I can see they look pretty normal, no sign of oil fouling or excessive richness. Just make sure there aren't any silvery deposits on the electrode or insulator tip, which would indicate leanness.

Are you regapping or keeping the .043" gap?

i keep the gap at .043. thanks for the feedback, there doesnt appear to be any deposits on the electrode or tip.

The only way to properly read plugs if to do a full throttle blast just like a 1/4 mile run, then imediatly shut the car off and pull the pugs. If you let it run after the full throttle blast they will clean themselves up. I recomend you get a new set, gap them to ~.033, install then do a blast and check them, thats how you do it.

FWIW, the electrode should be discolored from getting hot, like a weld. the discoloration should travel down the electrode a ways, no more than 2/3 the way down. If the discoloration touches the threads youve got too much heat, lean or DET.

Paul, call me with questions.

Oil leaking past the valve cover seals into the spark plug recess (not the combustion chamber), maybe.

Its normal for plugs that have been in for a while.

All spark plugs I've serviced with a decent amount of life on them had that too... including the ones I pulled this weekend (I'm stock N/A, no oil control problems)
