about to get S/C V1 kit...how to get every last drop of power?

I am about to buy a V1 S/C kit....it comes with the vortech 8:1 disc....which I am thinking of throwing out

I am a 5spd 95' SE....and have a mevi, custom cai for the S/C, 3.125" pulley, and right now 2.5" cat-back, high flow cat, and y pipe....

I am thinking of going with cattman headers and sellin my y pipe...as boosted max's see huge gains out headers apparently whereas NA ones don't...according to hnda etr's dyno....

in either case, the real reason for this thread is I am wondering how to get every last ounce of power out of this aforementioned setup? would it be to keep the vortech FMU 8:1 and get a SAFC and dyno tune it further? or would it be to get a cartech FMU and dyno tune? or would it be to get the JWT S/C programmed ecu? the only problem with the JWT S/C program is that with my setup listed above, I might max out the A32 maf and would rather not get the Z32 maf or 370cc injectors....in fact, right now, that is out of the question...

so short of buying the jwt program with Z32 maf and 370cc injectors, what is the best way with stock maf and injectors and the setup listed above to run safe boost without detonating? a hybrid setup like the jwt ecu and cartech fmu and then tune the cartech to kick in only in the high end when the mevi kicks in...so I don't run horribly lean?

or should I just have jwt program more FP bar into my chip so I don't need the cartech...and also program say a 12:1 AFR?

keep in mind I might need room to grow but not by much, cause after the install of headers, I will stop there...(say about an extra 20whp according to hnda etr's dyno comparison of just stillen y pipe vs. header y pipe cattman combo)

lastly, would I need 1 step colder copper plugs or 2 step colder plugs for this setup? what gap should I use?

14psi, 555cc injectors, eManage, J&S and Water/Alcohol injection and you shall be close to 425whp.

LOL....very funny, but seriously with my setup above which way would I get the most power,

1. vortech 8:1 fmu with SAFC and dyno tune it?
2. switch to cartech fmu and dyno tune it?
3. jwt S/C program no Z32 maf or 370cc injectors...
4. jwt S/C program and cartech and dyno tune it?

No..Use the 370's and the MAF..why would you not want to use the 370's...with the stock injectors youll be running way to much fuel pressure through your stock injectors for safe running

I don't want the possible headaches I have been reading about with the addition of the Z32 maf mod...plus getting 370's is gonna cost a lot and I am only talking about putting down at the absolute most 340 maybe 350@wheels and definitely no more than that! so aren't the 370's a little overkill? plus I heard you have smog trouble with 370's and there is a hassle there too....

can't I skate by 340WHP with the A32 maf, stock injectors and a JWT S/C program and just tell them what to program in based on the experiences of the guys on the boards here? what would you guys suggest I have them program or not program to get all the "gremlins" out that others have experienced...?? and maybe piggy back a cartech FMU for "just in case" tuning at the dyno....

have any of you destroyed your stock injectors running 300-350WHP lately? if so, how long did they last and at what FP were you seeing peak?

Peak you will see 90-100 on your stock injectors. That is way to much FP...Get the 370's programmed into the ECU and forget about the Z32 MAF...340 or 350 safely, you will need 370's

some guy told me that he used to run 100psi peak FP on his stock injectors with the cartech fmu tuned....then he got the JWT S/C program with stock maf and stock injectors and his FP went down to a peak of 60psi....don't know how just an ecu took it down that far though...would 60-70psi be safe?

wouldn't it be pointless to get the 370's and no Z32 maf programmed into the chip? cause the chip tells the 370's how much fuel to put in based on the maf readings which the A32 maf is maxed out....so are you saying I should run the A32 maf and 370's and get the JWT S/C program with Z32 injectors and also run the cartech FMU and pump up the FP past where the A32 maf stops telling the ecu to add fuel?

what FP peak would I see to run a 12:1 AFR with 340-350WHP and 370's?

If tou want 350 WHP, and you want to use the stock injectors, you are just asking for trouble. Basically what you are doing when you lower your Fuel Pressure is you are lowering the amount of fuel injected into the cylinder. If your car "needed" 100 psi to supply an adaquete amount of fuel to stay in the rich/safe area, and you suddenly drop it to 60 psi, that is going to cause some major lean issues. You will most likely heeat up the chambers like crazy, and cause some detonation . If you want more than 300WHP safely, ATLEAST get 370cc's. Go search for some threads on this... Theres some really good info.

i dynoed at 300.7 hp at the wheel hubs.... so about 350 hp at the crank with no problems...

well...right now in the F/S 4th gen forum there is a complete V2 kit with hks SSQV BOV going for $2200 shipped....basically, used kits are posted on here more than people think!!! and sometimes on ebay.....but I would stick with sellers on here first and then ebay....and sometimes the people on here also post on ebay....the kit posted on here range anywhere from $2000-3000 used as I have seen on here depending on how complete they are or what kinda extras they come with!

V2 kits will be quieter and less reliable due to belt shredding issues that some people encounter and melted pullies
