Hello Folks: This is my first thread in this forum. My '93 Maxima (VE30DE motor & Man Trans) is making a ratcheting noise when it is cold to about 10 mins of operation. It ratchets really fast when the engine revs to about 3600 rpm. When the engine is winding back down it will ratchet again about the same RPM. After it has warmed up it will not make the noise again. It is not the VTC's sprockets - I have checked that already and they are not making the noise. In fact, the VTC's are newer with only 60,000 miles on them. I am running the correct viscosity of 5W30 oil. The car never makes the noise when it is not in motion. Any body have any thoughts on this? Thanks for your help!
