Currently i have a cattman y-pipe and am looking to do a 3'' cat-back. My questions are would the Apex'i N1 universal muffler be good, and should i go with a 2.5'' resonated straight pipe (custommaxima.com) or a 3'' high flow cat, and i know for sure i am going to run a good size resonator to keep a nice deep (no rice) sound.

 

Are you boosted? (may be a dumb question...)

If you ARE boosted, from the exhaust pipes from the motor, you would want it to get VERY fast.

3" downpipe/y/b/ are usually only for 9+ psi of a boosted motor. Any less...2.5" is good enough.

But lets say you are boosted w/ 9+psi,,,3" would be good, with NO restrictions. (No cat or resonator).

Yes, it is boosted(10psi). I have the cattman Y-pipe right now and i would like to keep it so i would only being doing 3'' from the y-pipe and on. But i dont want it to have a raspy sound to it. I want the deep throaty sound. I will take a few horsepower loss to make it sound nice.
