Hey guys, wondering what was involved in swapping door handles between two cars. All i would want to swap is the chrome piece. Also, im throwing knock sensor and evap control system. Any ideas what would cause either of these? I know i can probably find this somewhere if I look so im headed off to do that now, but needed help with the door handles so I decided to lump the ECU in there with it.

 

swapping door handles is as easy as removing and reinstalling... i think its 2 bolts and 2 rods (1 rod for rear maybe). i would switch the whole assembly rather than just the chrome piece. as for the codes i'm not sure.

 

swapping the whole piece....hrmm...red on a white car wouldnt look good....i couldnt seem to get to the two bolts, the door skins are in the way.

 

KS is code is caused by a bad KS. Instructions for replacement are in the faqs.

For the evap, I believe it can be cleaned out somehow and this could solve your problem, but I'm not familiar with the specifics.

 

you have to remove the door panels and get them from the back.

 

with the knock sensor code, is it a definite that your KS kicked the bucket? Or possibly something else? And yeah I removed the door panels, but the metal door skins kept me from reaching one nut, how am I suppost to reach the other one?
