I was adviced that I can instead of buying new door trim and handles, I can just get some body color paint and just paint them black. Has anyone tried this and if so how did it turn out.

are you getting the paint from the dealer or are you just going to use a basic color.

I'm going to the same place that painted my front lip. I also bought her a spoiler, so we're all gonna do it at the same time.

My max came with the molding and handles black, cause its an SE. IMHO i think its a bad idea to paint the trim and handles. i say buy off a junked max or buy brand new. In the long run you will be better off. You wont have to worry about chips or flacking paint. my 2cents!

If you are talking about the door trim next to the windows which are black, mine were oxidated and the color was inconsistent. My friend said paint them but I thought it took too much time. I just buffed them out to a flat black color with some rubbing compound (don't know what kind). This was easy and most people don't know the difference. They just know when it looks like crap!

My handles are already the color of the car, but I was going to get the black art between the windows painted the color of my car. I have seen it before on a couple people's sig. pics, and it looks good. . . I was quoted $100 by a local body shop to do it. . .

I have done it, well, not by me, but I had my body shop guy do it for me when I was having my body kit installed. It looks very good, and I also had the front chrome grill painted white as well. Now my Max looks like an SE, but for 3000 less I will have pics up soon. Later
