Im looking at buying either a greddy full cat back , or an hks Muffler, does anyone know if the HKS muffler would be loud with a warpspeed Y pipe, i want the car to be loud for some reason , i just think its cool , but anyway , i have a place racing CAI,,, any advice on this would be great. I found a guy that is selling his Greddy for 325 , but its for a 98,,, i have a 95 , would it still fit ?

I heard from previous threads that HKS are louder than Greddy. Does Greddy sound anything like a stock v6 eclipse or is it louder? I drove one not too long ago and I liked the sound. Hey maximaR I am looking for an exhaust system too (but I am going for a quieter and deeper tone).

if you wan't quiet and deep...go for the A'PEXi WS cat-back.....it sounds REALLY good. GReddy is loud.

BTW MaximaR.....the GReddy cat-back from a 98 will fit on your car...just might have to have the rear O2 sensor hole patched....if it has one.

Hey Rll96 , if you want a quieter ride maybe try the Apex'i cat back, they are supposedly deeper and quieter than the Greddy , but i heard sometimes they make a farting kinda noise (civic style) and they dont have a whole lot of growling in them, im not sure if that is true , but ive just heard ,,,,

Was it the HKS muffler or a full cat back system that was louder , im looking for a really loud combo for some reason , i just dig it.

95/96s: hks will fit perfect.

97-99s: hks will stick out sorta..or the other way around i forget..

the hks is one of the quietest exhaust out there..there is no catback hks for a 4th gen either.

the greddy drones a bit...but is a catback..sounds cool though..

Thank you very much for the tip...except for the potential farting noise. I have 84k on my factory exhaust so I am doin some shopping.

I have the Apexi WS and i have no idea what you're talking about "fart noise". Mine sounds very nice and deep aroud 2000-2500 and is pretty quiet the rest of the time.

If you want loud and money is no object, it's a simple choice, get the Greddy.

I like the sound of the greddy. If you want loud, go w/ a stillen b-pipe and an apexi n1 exhaust. That's the setup I have on my '97 and it's hella loud.

If it's sound you're looking for APEXi Dunk exhaust is the way to go. Two of my friends put one on their car and that sh*t had a very nice deep tone that was VERY VERY loud. It had a nice sound to it, not like the civic/accord exhausts that sound like a woman screaming like she is giving birth the sextuplits.

If you want the best tone out of any cat-back or muffler, go with the APEXi. It has a great sound to it, deep and throaty, but not annoying like the Greddy. It, in no way, sounds like a Honda rice-burner, like a coffee can on the end of a pipe. But, if you want the bigger muffler but not the loud sound, then go with the HKS, it is very quiet and will sound good with your y-pipe. Hope this helps.
