hi guys,

i'm new here and i have a 96 GLE. my tachometer broke a while back and i'm thinking of fixing it but i don't know how. here's what happened. at some point it stopped reading the correct RPMs and sort of hovers around 600 all the time. which is right if i'm idling but even when i step on the gas, it never goes higher than 1000RPMs. i'm not sure what could be causing this. any ideas?

yes i have the exact same probelm ever since i bought it trying to find the solution on here now ill let you know if i find it

 

You do realize the original post is 8 years old, correct? Probably no sense in "letting him know if you find it"
