Last summer I had a problem with my A/C not blowing when I first start the car (once in a while). Of course during the cooler months, it doesn't act up, but now that its starting to get warmer (80's) its reminded me of the problem. It may do it once, and not again for 3 months, or do it 3 times in one day.

I've troubleshot all the circuits, the switches (A/C controller itself), blower motor, etc.

It only goes out for a few minutes, then it all of the sudden starts blowing again....BTW, the A/C is engaged when its not blowing, so I keep thinking its a relay. When it stops, it won't blow on the low or high relays. Everytime I get a chance to look at it, it doens't fail...Just when I'm in a hurry to get somewehre...

Anyone go thru this before? I need to assign responsibility to a component...anyone wanna guess?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm Don aren't the 4-gen vents electronicly controlled? Maybe the ac is working but the vent you want it blowing through is not opening? Or am I totally off base here?

you're not too far off base. Its not that the air isn't coming out, it ISN'T blowing (IE: fan motor not moving).

One day I came back from Corpus and my son needed a potty break, so I pulled over and yada yada, went back on the Interstate and floored it and the A/C quit completely. 20 minutes of driving and nothing. The next morning I went to see what was wrong and everything was fine. I have the automatic climate control and they have a "system self check/diagnosis" which I did but showed nothing wrong. Some how flooring it caused it to take a sheet or it was a VERY BIG cowinkedink (which is why I quoted in a hurry). If you have automatic climate, post back and we can see whats up. I have the FSM so hopefully I can help. Later from SA.

Check your blower motor. My car did the samething prior to maxus 99. I don't know how hard the blower motor is to change in the 4th gens but it was cake in my car. FYI I was riding without AC for 4 months (damn I'm lazy). I don't want to do that again.
