Need advise for 95 GLE MODS

I Just got a 95 GLE that I am using mostly for highway use to work, I am putting some '18 Mille Miglia Spider II on and have already tinted the windows. I want to put some allseason tires, improve the braking, and tighten up the suspension a little. I want the ride to be comfortable but to handle well. I won't be racing it but will push over 100 once in a while (as often as possible ). Can you let me know what you would advise?

Thanks

here's some advice:
the mods you mention are mostly cosmetic and will negatively affect your performance. with 18's, your car will be slower and your HP will be diminished due to the added weight and rubber on the ground. if you lower the car, the ride will be compromised in favor of improved handling... the maximas have a stiff ride... even my GLE was stiffer than my camry whilst stock. If your Will will allow, i recommend keeping it stock and driving it as is and enjoy the car. it will save you the money in the long run. just my two cents. you are welcome to disagree or agree .

oh, and by the way, your braking will worsen when you increase the weight and size of your rims. the only thing you can do to improve braking with your 18's is to get a brake kit which will replace the rotors, calipers and pads. You may opt to replace the brake lines to steel braided ones but they really arent necessary. good luck

Thanks for the helpful advise (those of you who were helpful), the rest of you why bother. The only reason I was thinking of modding the suspension MaxNYC is because I had a 96 SE before and it seemed a little tighter to me, and a friend of mine told me that the GLE not as tight as the SE BTW I already added the OEM spoiler. I checked out your 95 GLE, what kind of percentage difference in braking did you feel when you put the 17' on?

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, son. I was merely trying to help you out - seriously. If you would have browsed through the faq's that are stickied on the top of this and every other forum, you would have found many helpful answers to the questions you posted here, and you could have answered your own questions before littering up the board with another useless post. I wasn't trying to be a jerk. If that's how you took it, that's your problem, but seriously - you should take some time and read the faq's.

Its ok little guy no offense taken, and I have read plenty of the faq's posted at the top but unfortantely I just don't have enough time on my hands to read ALL of the faq's, and as far as I know this forum is about people who want to talk about their maxima. Thats what I am saying about mine no body made you read it and no one made you reply. If you don't like me posting this then here is a tip next time don't read it or post to it.

OK sounds like you have it figured out. I only have one question. If you don't have enough time to read the faq's, how do you have enough time to post stupid questions? In the time it took you to type your post, you could have read an article in the faq's. I'm just saying...

Also, I will not reply to any more of your posts in this thread. If you have anything else to say to me directly you're going to have to take it to PM.

aw u guys are so cute. anyway. to the original poster: I spent a countless number of hours reading threads and faq's and how to's until I pretty much memorized the stuff. Basic troubleshooting and gains/losses with certain mods. I really don't feel the need to post much bc I already read it in the stickies somewhere, I looked it up (google.com), and other people ask the questions I would. Just take the time to read them.

On the other hand, enjoy your 'new' max. I have a 99 gle and wish I had gotten an se-L.. if only i'd known. personally i think the suspension on the se and gle are the same, handling wise. Maybe the gle is smoother on bumps but thats just me.
