changing ATF fluid/filter on 95 GXE

Hello, Im plannin on changin the ATF fluid on a 95 GXE Auto. I see that this tranny has a filter on the outside, unlike my 90 Auto. How often do you guys change the filter, and what kind to use???? Changing filter is easy?? I know it requires to change gasket too. Any tips????

Sorry if this has been asked before. I dont frequent these 4th gen forums much. Thanks in advance all. I may be hanging around here soon...lookin for 97-99 5sp GLE......

don't worry about changing the filter/screen-just clean it, the pan, and the magnet with brake cleaner. replace the gasket and loctite the bolts. leave the screen in place to avoid a nightmare with a nut that does'nt want to cooperate. trust me on this one!!

If you get that 97-99. . . Are you planning on swapping a 5spd into that GLE?

just 'cause...the nut won't come off without a big fight, some cursing, head scratching, some more cursing, and in general doing more than needed.
