foglights like the lexus is300
This is what I did in my JDM Fog lights on my Honda Prelude....take a yellow bulb cover from an Acura or Lexus...even some Benz's have them. And retro fit that into the fog light itself. Its true that the yellow you see on the IS300 is a projector. But lots of other cars have yellow fogs just by using the bulb covers. Below are some pics of what I'm talking about....

To clear some things up...the pics above are not before and after...its just with the HIDs on the Prelude it kinda takes away from the yellow in that one pic. Anyhow about the install...these will NOT be a direct plug and play install. You will need to mod the housing a bit to make them work. They will slip over the bulb just fine, but you need to dremel the opening to fit the new bulb cover. Its not a big deal. I haven't done it on mine yet basically because I cant get the fogs off without taking the lip off. The best place to get the covers is HIDtech.com. They really know their stuff and will provide fast shipping.
piaa ion crystal yellow are not ugly!! i have them on my car and they are just like lexus ones, BUT u have to aim them a little high to get that effect. right now mine are aim higher than the headlights alittle! but they look very nice IMO and some friend's opinion!
I was in front of an IS300 today and thinking just how bad those yellow lights look and I'm continually surprised that a factory light setup from a car costing that much would look so bad. It looks like what a 16 year old would put on his 8 year old civic, because they're the cheapest fog lights he could find from the walmart automotive department.

I have the PIAA Crystal Ions with Lamin-x film...
1. why, exactly, is the film "geto" [sic]? You can't even tell it's film if its installed correctly - looks like yellow glass.
2. I agree, I don't particularly like the color put out by the PIAA crystal ion bulb - it has this annoying blue/green tinge to it that I think is ricey. But I paid $$ for them, so I'm gonna use them til one burns out.
3. Narva is a well-known bulb manufacturer - As soon as my PIAAs burn out I'm switching to the Narva Gold's -which are a "deeper" yellow. Just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it's not good.
With the lexus, it's not the BULB, it's the entire assembly. Good luck fitting a lexus fog assembly into your max.
btw - you guys are using the wrong terms. The lower lights on the maxima are NOT "fog" lights. They are "driving lights."
Fog lights, by definition, are high-powered (75W+) and SHINE YELLOW BECAUSE YELLOW CUTS THROUGH FOG BETTER than regular halogen (or HID, for that matter). So complain all you want about yellow lights, about how they look like they should be on a old civic, but the bottom line is for those of use who like to see better in fog and heavy rain, yellow lights are better. Go over to Europe and you'll see almost all the cars have yellow fogs (as well as a rear fog light). Why? because they're effective.
why am I not surprised that someone on the org is more interested in his lights "looking good" than his lights actually putting out the best visibility

There was someone about a year ago that got some fogs from a busted Lexus.
Lexus uses this yellow cap thing that the fog light shines throught that makes them that color. I'm guessing it also projects the light as well. It's not just the bulbs....... if I'm not mistaken the bulb isn't even a yellow light.
A lot of these higher car companies just don't rely on bulbs for light and intensity, but they engineer the housings as well. My ex girlfriend has a Mercendes SLK230 and I wanted to put HIDs on it, but after reading some Mercedes forums I found out that it couldn't be done. It had something to do with the housing and how they were made for just regular bulbs and not HIDs.
