Clutch pedal REALLY stiff

Am I getting old or is the clutch pedal on the 2000 Maxima really stiff? My knee literally is hurting. I think i have to go see a doctor.

My question, what can I do about it? If nothing, I'm selling this car...I just got a new baby daughter and I need a car that won't make me see a doctor.

If I do sell it, would it be cheaper to sell my parts or as a whole? I have the following: Budget Y-Pipe, Pacesetter short-shifter, Stillen Intake, H&R springs, Chrome gauge rings, MOMO shifter, front-tower strut bar, Velox 17" rims (15lbs each!). I have 98000 miles and it is in pristine condition.

Just Out Of Curiosity How Much Are You Looking For The Car??

And Would You Consider Selling Those Rims Separately?? Please Post A Pic Of The Wheels Of You Can, I Been Looking For A Set Of Particular Velox 17s, Thanx.

Change out your stock worn out clutch for a Exedy clutch. I belive there was a group deal on one of these on the forum a while back. I did one today for a .Org member ( maybe he will speak up ) and after driving his car out of my shop outside I couldn't belive that the clutch was actually releasing and applying with the movement of the clutch pedal- it was that light. My car has a ACT clutch so the pedal is pretty hard to push in vs the OE Repleacement Exedy. I would recomend Exedy for anyone who is not going to be chirping 3rd gear, races or anything. Exedy will take spirited driving just as well as the stock clutch- which is also made by Exedy. Just don't go buying the crappy Nissan Key Value clutch, which is just as good as a AutoZone clutch kit special !

It's possible that you have a bad clutch slave cylinder. On my previous car my slave cylinder went bad and caused the clutch to be very stiff......once it was replaced clutch was fine....note that I'm talking about the slave cylinder (which is down on the clutch assembly itself) not the master cylinder (which is on the firewall).
