New springs , leave old struts?

If I get new springs, is it necessary to get new struts. The car is at 70k mark, so do the stock struts need replacement or do they still have life in them left?

hmmm, I would change the struts. the stock ones aren't really designed for riding lower. Plus, you already got 70 k on em.

If you feel like taking everything apart again to put new struts in eventually. Do it right the first time instead of wasting time later

What's going to happen is that your bearings will wear out before your stock struts themselves, and this will happen faster with any aftermarket springs you put in.

Any pics yet of the long announced night-and-day difference drop, Irish?

no, just got home and I want them to "settle" before i do "after" measurements. I will tell you this, after putting them on I drove 300 miles home on both country roads and I-95 with the Illuminas set to 4 front and 3 rear....ride was great on the smoother country roads (felt BETTER than stock SE suspension) but was a little harsh on some of the big expansion joints on the hwy - I will probably turn them down to 3 in the front.

One nice thing is that there is no more "bounciness" in big dips - the car recovers immediately...also handling is much better.

looks = back wheels look just a tiny bit lower, fronts look about 1-1.5" lower - basically it looks now like it SHOULD have looked from the factory if nissan had done things right.....

will have measurements/thoughts/install notes sometime this week...
