Grill Tech Grill Suggestion

I've been looking into getting a new grill from grill tech, but they only offer them in black and silver. I've got a 2k2 "Glacier Pearl" max and at first i thought i'd have it painted the same color, but after thinking maybe i should not do that. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A WHITE ON WHITE GRILL? I've seen the factory grill's painted white and am not too much of a fan on those.
So basically i was wanting some suggestions.....should (if i do buy) i go with a grill painted same color as the car or go with a black or silver grill. If i do buy a girll it'll be from Grill-tech and will be the "race" version.

I think the diamond style looks the best. I would go with silver. By the way if you are intersted i have a brand new set of grill tech lower bumper grill. 30 shipped. They are diamond style and silver.

has Rust-tech produced a better grill recently? the New england seasons are tough on anything that will rust.

JoeyC502 - thanks, but i'm onlyl interested in the race version and the upper grill.

TrexMax001 - I'm not sure, but before i put it on i'll be sure to put some rust protection, with all the rain we get down here i've gotta do something.

Maybe i'm just lucky b/c i've had my grill-tech for over a year now & it's nowhere near rusting.
I do take pretty good care of it though. I always dry it thoroughly after I was my car.

I think you are the exception....or maybe they ARE made better now. I got my lower ones almost 2 years ago and they rusted. I took them off, scrapped/wire brushed them, primer and silver paint and they rusted again within 6 months. Took 'em off for good last spring.

Glad to hear yours are looking good.

He's in Florida so he'll be okay. I've had a set for 1.5 years with no rust and now I have a set that was rusted by another org member and was repainted and clear coated.

aliti19 - after seeing your car with the grill i decided to get one also

wildmanal - your car looks real nice!

Yea, i'm hoping that since i'm in florida it won't rust, i'm not close enough to the beach to get that beach corrosion.

I suggest if you do buy the grille-techs, you use about 4 coats of clear coat on them. 2 years with mine and no rust, I clear coated them after hearing the complaints about the rust from other Org members.

O-town is ok, actually the out skirts were hit worse. Daytona got hit hard, there's people that have no homes now. Overall Orlando got spared compared to other places.

i have the upper and lower diamond grill tech grills and i just put on two layers of rust proof just to get ready for NE Winter 2004. I like the grill tech grills but their grills suck for being rust proof.

You can always pay a bit more and get the JMS grills which are awesome.

JMS are ok, i just don't like how they're holes are so big on the maxima's grilles. I really like the altima grill they have.

Grill-Tech sucks. Would you be painting it with spray paint yourself, or getting it professionally matched?

I think for me, i'm still debating between the silver or black, i'm thinking of smoking out my headlights and the black grill will look better with them, but until i can do that the silver will look better. If i still don't like that i'll get it professionally color matched and painted.

umm... not much to it . remove the bolts from the stock grill.
the grill tech attaches with zip ties they provided. ... find the best location for the zip ties. and u r done. one thing is that you might want to do is on that plastic vertical piece of the bumper behind the grill..... you might want to put a piece of plastic or something ... between the grill and that vertical piece ..... i noticed after a while the grill sinks in and that will prevent it and keep it nice and firm.
its hard to explain what i am talking about ..... but if anythign ....IM me on aim or yahoo.
