I'm looking into painting my factory brake calipers on my 96 SE. What is a good brand of paint to use and where should I get it? Also, my bodycolor is "Granite Pearl"...what do you guys think is a good color to use on the calipers? I was thinkin about using a bright red, but I think that's too "typical". Anyone have ideas?

 

...ummm....94cent wal-mart paint seemed to do the trick for me. I painted mine body color and its been months and months since mine have been painted with no wear...

Just make sure to prep the surface real good and you'll be fine with whatever paint you use.

I used VHT brake caliper paint.
How to:

Clean surface thoroughly. Remove grease, oil, loose paint, rust, scale, etc. using a high grade cleaner such as VHT's Brake Cleaner (Product #SP-11 & #SP-11-1 for use in California) or PJ1's Super Cleaner (Product number #3-20 & 3-21 for use in California). Scuff any rusted or glossy surface with either a wire brush or steel wool. Cleanse again with high grade cleaner and let dry. Mask any surface not to be coated. Apply coating in a 70°F- 95°F environment with minimal humidity. Shake can for one minute after marble is heard. Hold can upright 12-16 inches from surface during application. Apply each coat in a crosshatch pattern. For best results, apply thin, even coats in 20- minute intervals until desired coverage is achieved.

 

folia-tec, and yes you do see a difference using that than using duplicolor engine enamel or similar. For one thing, duplicolor hi-temp will disolve in contact with brakleen
