Make your Gauges brighter?

I was driving at night one time and saw new TL next to me. Looked inside and saw this:

And then I looked at my gauges and asked myself, is it possible to make mine as bright as his?...so, is it possible? I want to keep everything stock, just make it brighter

Yes, you can replace the 194 incandescent bulbs in your guages with 194 size LEDs.

Yep, check out my car domain site for mine. I actually am thinking about changing my blue 194's LED in the gauges to white LED's because it's such a clean look! I love my red window switches however!

hey, i was reading your how-to, and you gave a link to my site! thats cool. anyway, do you know if the 2002 max can have clear needles as well? i was going to take sandpaper to the needle like you did, but i didn't want to try if the red will not come off. please let me know if i can do this! thanks!

look with a 98-99 just buy some #74 led's off ebay. i did it in my friends car and a 01 altima. sand them down alttle so it give more light of in differant directions. easy. better and less permanant than soldering.

if you want bright buy some indiglo's that do not light upall the way.

Only way to find out is to take it apart and look closely probably on the sides to figure out of the needle is clear with just a thin film. I don't have a 2002 so I can't say.

74's will never look as good as the 194's. Im having the same problem and i dont really want to solder 194's in there. I just wish they made glow gauges that actually looked good and didnt have any green in them.

Did you use the "1-LED Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type)" or
" Blue 4-LED Wedge Base Bulb Polarized"? I went to superbrightleds.com there two types of #194 I can use. I'm not sure if the 4-LED will fit into the gauge. Let me know if it fits.

thanks
