Usually power and ground related. Make sure your ground is good and if your rca and power are run together, run them on diferent sides of the car.

Also might try using some contact cleaner on your RCA connections.

chances are you need to get rid of your lousy installer. hahaha j/k. Id make sure your grounds are of good quality and location, and your power/RCA's are seperated. Assuming your amplifiing your 4 speakers in the car.

I've always like my monster cables. I've heard stinger were OK as well, though i've never used them

get stinger or monster rcas....short ground.....and if it is still there, i forget the name but if you go to a circuit city ask the installers about a device that takes away engine noise, it is like an insulator, looks like a small can of soup with rcas coming out of it....it bascially filters out engine noise....but yeah if you have walmart rcas, you need to change that if you planning on bumpin focals and eclipse speakers....

me and my friend use those "crappy" walmart scoche rcas and they work beautifully. if you want ill buy you some "high" quality rca's and sell them to you for $100 because i say they are better. just like speaker wire.... generally its the same. twisted or not ive never had a problem with engine noise so check grounds as stated.

not 'crappy', but theres a possibility they may be defective-

he should pull out the HU, unplug one set at a time an run a spare set in mid air just to test to see if its one of them

im using tsunami RCA from circuit city and their a great set. my amp also has a floating ground to protect agaist electrical noise (kenwood kac-7251) before this i had a solo baric on a crunch amp with walmart RCA and i had engine noise LIKE CRAZY!

btw my ground is hooked up to one of the bolts that metal bracket used to be on that is behind the rear seat.
