compression on my motor
Ok I took the time to do a check and this is what I came up with.
the haynes fsm says that normal would be 173psi
the min is 128psi
and the maximum diffrance between cylenders are 14psi
cylender 1= 177psi
c 3= 177psi
c 5= 180psi
c 2= 177psi
c 4= 155psi
c 6= 177psi
ok I got 165,000 miles on my vg and use no oil and no noise
just that cylender #4 is got me wondering if I will be ok for boost
tell me what you all think. Oh yeah im thinking some where around 5psi at first then ty to go to 10 or 11psi of boost

You might try digging a little deeper with a leakdown test on that cylinder #4 or at least drop in a couple drops of oil and then try doing the compression test again. Search on the net for many more things you can do to try and narrow down exactly what's different with that cylinder.
I say go for it though, just expect to do a motor swap someday so prepare in advance. I wouldn't worry much though.

Hey guy,my friend have a leak down test with 2 gauge on it that he bought used, but it doesn't come with the manual,so how do you use it and how do you read the gauge?Thanx alot for your help.
