What amp to get for a single 12" JLW6v2 (400 wRMS)? I was thinking about a Rockford Fosgate 501bd (500RMS) but the wattage is a little high. However I know that 400w is the reccomended optimum watts from JL so how many of you push more than that and how are the results?

 

I got the 12w6v2 last week and the amp i got to run with is is the 500/1 jl amp. Im still in the process of hooking it up but i've told and shown the combo to many people i know that do alot or car stereo work and they cant wait for me to get it finished.

Shouldnt have any problems with those two paired together. Just go ahead with it.

 

its better to have an amp thats too powerful then not powerful enough, on smaller amps people tend to turn the gains and bass boost up to get it louder and it in turn can hurt the speaker where as bigger amps u can turn them down and tune them properly
