Well, P0140 came and visited me today. Got some questions.

Pulled the codes last night and it came back with an O2 sensor (bank 2) error. We read all 4 of the sensors and they read: 3W, 3W, 56W, and 7W. That 56 is obviously the culprit. So I was wondering how long does it take to fix the O2 sensor? Is it like a few hours, or a few days?

I did the P0140 sensor replacement and it took me a whopping 1.5 hours to replace and reloom the wire, and that included a trip to the store to get the "perfect" fittin wrench so I would not strip the O2. Took Nissan longer than that to just reprogram the ECU.

Couple quick notes:
1) make 100% sure that the exhaust is STONE COLD, or youll raise the risk of stripping out the O2 hole and need to rethread it. (not hard, just need the die)

2) dont forget to put anti-seaze grease on the threads on the re-install.

3) Give DaveB a call on the sensors. Yeah, youll pay about 10 buck more for the OEM one, but then you dont have to cut and splice wires for a "generic" one, and the wire lengths are correct. Plus, sensors are not a place you want to "save" money.

Is it the Red wire or white wire that you are replacing? The one thats in the "elbow" of the Y pipe is a little challenge, but not hard...just be patient.

Bro, I'm car stupid when it comes down to this kind of stuff. I don't know the innards of a car and what to do. So this is something I'm going to have to get Nissan to do for me. I have a new warranty on the car.

i had p0140 covered under warranty. they replaced both secondary o2 sensors and flashed the ecu for new programming. they had one of the o2s in stock but had to order the other. 3 days later i came in the morning, dropped it off and was ready by 5. if youve got the warranty than use it but if not then follow colonel's advice.

Since you have that Nissan Platinum warranty, just take it in and they should handle it for you.

Did the SES light come back on after I reset it for you?
