286.86HP/239.41TQ-S/C'd 4th Gen - corrected

Well Dyno Day at HorsepowerFreaks was a kick in the ***. It looks like the JWT ECU didn't do much for HP but got me all my TQ back and then some I'll take these numbers happily.

I know...I got Speed instead of RPM's at the bottom. That earns me a freebie the next time I'm over there. Now the first two runs were taken at a lower range..which is were I got the killer TQ spec. Now the third run we did higher up (started closer to redline for dyno range). The TQ went down but the HP kept climbing to 286.

My A/F is right on the money from what I see here and after talking to quite a few people after the runs. Now my question...if I put specs in my sig like "HP/TQ". Do I have to pick which run I like the best or do I get the highest ratings "o' the day". I'd like to post up 286HP/285TQ but I don't know if that's how the "rules" work. If I have to choose a run..I'll be posting 273HP/283TQ (Run 2).

Either way it was a kick in the pants. Shop isn't ran by idiots and the service was AWESOME! HPFreaks and TQFreaks get my seal of approval!

How much boost are you running? What pulley and are you 5 speed or auto?

Currently running the 3.12" Pulley which gives me right around 10-11PSI at 6500RPM. I have an A/T w/ the VBmod and cooler. + MEVI

Nice dyno....I posted mine a little while ago and did not get much feed back. I am running the same pulley as you and I am on the US manifold. I am tuning with my SAFCII...I am hitting the same HP as you but my tq is like 20 ft/lbs less. I am also five speed. So my question is what did you do to make that kinda tq. I am only tuned to around 11:1 right now.

One simple thing The JWT ECU upgrade is what gave me all the TQ back.

so you are saying if I lean out to 12:1 then i will have my tq up in the 285 range? Just curious...I want to get over 300whp with my current set up as well...I just have not had time to go back to the dyno.

Great numbers! Especially for an auto tranny. What kind of exhaust you got?

Not exactly..what I said was JWT ECU. My TQ was low before the ECU. I was pulling 278.4HP/235TQ. That is due to the MEVI's theft of low end TQ to make high end HP. The ECU gives back the TQ. I know it has a lot to do with adjusted timing and tuned A/F. So I guess your on the right track. What FMU are you using?

No..don't have headers. The only thing that changed since the last dyno when I was at 235FtLbs is the ECU.

I am running the 4:1 FMU....I never knew that you could gain +50 Tq with ecu alone...do you know anyone else that has done a before and after dyno on the JWT ECU, that is SC?

I do actually, however, this gain only applies to those with a MEVI I'm sure. The USIM does not steal the TQ away like the MEVI does so the JWT may not be all that for those without MEVI.

FYI..you will find yourself with SIGNIFICANT gains if you get rid of that Vortech FMU and purchase a Cartech Variable FMU. When I did that (pre-JWT) I gained about 30HP & TQ. Ask around..everyone will tell you to go to the Cartech FMU. It does require a dyno tune to get it "dialed in" perfectly so there is some additional expense to that.

In addition, the run where he hit 285tq started at the end of 2nd gear, causing false tq numbers. (see the MPH on the bottom of the chart)
His 3rd run is the accurate run (286hp,239tq) - which is aobut right knowing he's Auto and knowing his exhaust setup.

Don't mean to diss Eric - but people use these Dyno results to compare their cars to others, and this would be overly optimistic.

Besides, it was making people ask questions about my Dyno (see a few posts down)

ok nevermind then....It would have been nice if it were posted that way...because what was posted looked more similiar to a turbo dyno rather than a SC

Also notice that the line in his graph for TQ never actually gets to 280+.

It got to 280+ earlier in the run (off the graph) and was cut out because he was in the wrong gear at that point.

I've been informed. First two dyno's are thrown out. Third one goes on record. Will be doing it again in a couple months. Sorry if I offended anyone but when I asked the questions of more experienced members on what to post, nobody took the time to analyze what I was talking about just post one of them but they have to be in the same run.

**** happens.
