wipers not working, fuse seems ok....

Hi All,

I tried to do a search, but I do not have priviledges for that. I did a long trip yesterday, from Zacatecas to Guadalajara, here in Mexico. My wipers died during the trip. I check the fuse that I think corresponds, it's a 20 amp fuse in the middle row. It seems fine and I even swapped it with another. The winshield washer is also not working. Any ideas before I submit my *** to the Nissan dealer here?

Thanks

Pedro

Maybe the swtich/stalk(spell?) is bad.

Well if the swtich is bad, it would not send a signal so nothing would respond. So when you move it up and down or pull it towards you, the switch does not respond.

BTW if you don't have inermidiate wipers, it would be perfect to replace hte switch with the ones that have it. Look in hte how to's for it.

i would check over ALL fuses in the car, including the ones under the hood, sometimes a misc. electronics fuse that blew could cause them not to work instead of the normal wipe fuse.

The problem gets interesting.... switch seems ok, had it tested. Fuse seems fine and the realy seems ok too. I wonder what else I should look at... any ideas? Like I said, the wipers AND washer pump died suddenly with no warning.

Thanks

ok, all is solved now.. a friend checked everything with a test light. It turns out there was a false contact in the fuse holder and it had gotten fried a little. easy and free fix!!! but is one of those things that drive you crazy, trying to find out what the freaking problem was!
