04 Irotors Slotted and blehmco BBK Kit -- 500 miles after the install

Just wanted to post an update...the rotors are bedded and look sweet as hell...Obviously the warpage is gone. Braking seems very solid and firm...it feels as if the car stops a lot quicker but that could just be mental. I've tried heating them up high speed braking, etc. and they are still very solid...I'm gonna try post some braking distances...definitely satisfied with the blehmco bbk kit and would recommend it...

Yep, I'm satisfied with the overall kit too. Had some problems but they weren't kit-related (I had 1 stuck caliper, and it warped the right rotor and possibly did some other stuff, but I haven't confirmed everything that's happened yet)

I"m assuming you're using your stock calipers. I'm getting the 300zx calipers, but will need atleast .5" spacers for them to fit. How much did you pay for your rotors?

yeah, stock calipers.
From iRotors the rotors without any features (slots/drilled) nor coatings was $159 for the pair, plus $25 shipping = $184 for the set.

I didn't realize Brembo's were out for the '04's. Silver or black zinc plated?

you might want to go with the 300zx.. 4 piston calipers.. better stopping and grabs the rotors better...thatn the smaller stock one

i can also provide you with remanufactured 300 zx calipers if u want..pm me if u want

The thing of it is....

With the 300Z calipers you get a MUCH larger pad. THe pads on my wifes focus were even larger than the Maxima pad. It was truely embarassing.

Matt has an ongoing theory that the pad overheats and that cause the pad transfer which that "vibration" you feel. I have not had any warpage on mine at all.

one general note....to do the 300Z calipers you HAVE to have aftermarket rims (18's or bigger)....they will NOT fit under the OEM 17's

And another note on that... even if you have 18s you might have to still get spacers. I have 19" and still need .5" spacers. It's all about the spoke design for clearance.

Actually the 300ZX calipers will fit under some 17's, its about the spoke design. Mine fit under my spare wheels, Konig Tantrums, 17x8, +40 offset. Pictures are on Matt's web site of them.
