Stock Suspension Questions

Okay I have a question regarding the stock suspension.

My friend needs to replace his front right strut assembly and he has a 96 SE, and he bought an assembly from a 96 GXE. So I'm wondering if there is a difference in the spring rate across all the trim levels of the 4th gen? I think that the GXE strut assembly would be to "soft" compaired to the SE assembly. The guy doesn't do any spirited driving he just needs to get his car up and running. So, is there a difference between the GXE,SE, and GLE suspension? Can he run the GXE assembly in his SE? And insights would be appreciated.

No,there are a few part numbers that differ between trim levels, but they all feel and handle about the same.

If you were blindfolded and rode in an SE, a GLE and a GXE back to back, you wouldnt be able to tell which was which.

I hope you dont drive blind folded! LOL, j/k

The rear had stiffer spring rate and all the struts were valved for a sportier ride. Also the front sway bar had poly urethane bushings. To add better dynamics the tire or wheel package was different. But probably yielded minimal gains.
